Alex Maynard Named President of Commercial Banking at Farmers & Merchants Bank
Farmers & Merchants Bank is excited to share that Alex Maynard has been named President of Commercial Banking, effective December 1st.
Based at our headquarters in Stuttgart, Alex will help guide commercial banking efforts across the bank, working closely with businesses, professionals and our community presidents throughout Arkansas.
Alex has been part of the Farmers and Merchants Bank team since 2012 and brings more than a decade of banking experience to the role. Over the years, he has served as a Commercial Lender and most recently as Private Banking Director, earning a reputation for being relationship-driven and deeply invested in the success of both customers and colleagues.
“Leading our community presidents is an opportunity I truly value,” Alex said. “Community banking is built on relationships, and I enjoy getting to know people personally and supporting their growth as bankers and leaders. Coming from a family-owned business gives me a unique perspective — one grounded in real-world experience and an understanding of the communities and customers we serve.”
Before entering banking, Alex was a partner in his family’s furniture business, Mayn-Mart, and later owned ASM Appraisals, where he worked as a licensed Certified Residential Appraiser in Arkansas. That background gives him firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities business owners face every day.
A Stuttgart native and graduate of Stuttgart High School, Alex earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is currently completing the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking and is scheduled to graduate in May.
Alex is also deeply involved in the Stuttgart community. He serves on the Baptist Health Stuttgart Advisory Board, the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce Board and Executive Committee, the ICCM Food Bank Board, Stuttgart Unlimited, the Stuttgart Country Club Board and the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Board.
