Brett Liebhaber Joins Farmers & Merchants Bank in Pocahontas as a Commercial Loan Officer

Farmers & Merchants Bank is proud to welcome a familiar face to our team in Pocahontas! Brett Liebhaber has joined us as a Commercial Loan Officer, bringing with him more than two decades of valuable experience in banking and public service.

Brett grew up in Pocahontas, where he learned the value of hard work on his family’s rice and soybean farm along the Current River. After graduating from Pocahontas High School, he pursued a business degree at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. His career in banking began at the Bank of Pocahontas, where he quickly advanced to Loan Officer and completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

In 2003, Brett shifted to a long and successful career with the Social Security Administration. Over the next 22 years, he held several key leadership positions, including Assistant District Manager of the Jonesboro Field Office. His outstanding service earned him multiple Commissioner’s Citations, the agency’s highest honor for leadership and dedication.

Now, Brett is excited to return to his roots in community banking. He officially joined Farmers and Merchants Bank on March 31 and is already making an impact at our Pocahontas branch.

“Helping people and businesses in Pocahontas succeed financially is incredibly rewarding, and I’m honored to be part of an organization so dedicated to our community,” Brett said.

Outside of work, Brett is deeply committed to Pocahontas. He has served in leadership roles with the Rolling Hills Country Club, St. Paul Catholic Church, and the Black River Technical College Foundation Board. Brett’s wife is Karen Liebhaber, Vice President of Advancement at Black River Technical College. They are proud to call Pocahontas home and enjoy spending time with their two children.
