Efficiency and Empowerment: How Mollie Edmonson Elevates Deposit Operations

Starting a new chapter with her husband, Mollie Edmonson found not only a home in Stuttgart, Ark., but also an unexpected career path. While initially pursuing early childhood education, Edmonson’s openness to new opportunities led her to banking, where she discovered a natural fit for her knack with numbers and genuine interest in helping people, finding a role that combined her talents and dedication to her community. What began as a teller position evolved into a rewarding career at Farmers & Merchants Bank, where she now serves as the Deposit Operations Manager.
Guided by her mentor, Jennifer Bueker, Edmonson has excelled, always focused on supporting both her team and the customers who count on her. From her early days in customer service to her current leadership role, Edmonson has embraced Bueker’s open-minded approach, a quality she now instills in her own team.
“Jennifer has been instrumental in my journey here,” Edmonson said. “She taught me the importance of continual learning and gave me the space to grow.”
Now, as she manages her department, Edmonson pays that mentorship forward, ensuring her team members feel supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
“My leadership style is all about encouragement and praise, reminding everyone that there’s no ‘I’ in ‘team.’ We work together to get the job done and give our all every day,” she said.
In her role, Edmonson oversees critical tasks such as account reconciliation, ledger maintenance and operational troubleshooting. She’s implemented numerous efficiencies within deposit operations, a role that keeps her constantly looking for ways to improve both internal processes and customer experiences.
“Efficiency is one of my favorite words,” she said with a smile. “If we can make things easier for both our team and our customers, that’s a win.”
As technology plays an increasingly central role in deposit operations, Edmonson notes that combating fraud has become one of their primary responsibilities.
“With so much fraud happening these days, we work hard to prevent it, saving money for the bank but, most importantly, protecting our customers,” she said, adding that she sees potential for technology to continue improving both daily efficiency and fraud prevention.
Edmonson’s commitment to her role goes beyond routine responsibilities. Her team is known for its solution-oriented approach, often working hand-in-hand with the solution center to resolve customer issues quickly and effectively. Although she may not interact directly with customers, Edmonson’s work behind the scenes is crucial to maintaining smooth operations and a positive experience for everyone who banks with Farmers and Merchants Bank.
Outside work, Edmonson values her time with family and the sense of community she’s found in Stuttgart. She and her husband, a Polaris technician, enjoy outdoor activities together with their young son. In her spare time, Edmonson also stays active in the community, having participated in Stuttgart’s Chamber of Commerce leadership program to build connections with other local businesses.
Mollie Edmonson’s journey at Farmers and Merchants Bank demonstrates her dedication to both professional growth and community support. As she continues to lead with efficiency and empathy, she plays a key role in upholding the values that define Farmers and Merchants Bank.
