His responsibilities include:

  • Tenant Selection and Leasing: Ensuring you have reliable, high-quality farm operators.
  • Commodity Marketing: Strategic planning to maximize returns on crops.
  • Agronomics & Conservation: Implementing best practices for sustainability, soil health, and water management.
  • Capital Improvements: Overseeing projects like drainage, irrigation, and land leveling, and helping clients navigate the associated tax advantages.

Meet Brett Provost: A Lifetime in Agriculture

Brett brings nearly three decades of agricultural and banking experience to this role. He joined Farmers & Merchants Bank in 2012, and his roots run deep in the local farming community. He is a fourth-generation farmer and landowner, and his family farm in Poinsett County was designated an Arkansas Century Farm in 2018.

His personal passion for the land drives his professional expertise:

“I’m passionate about all aspects of farming, from sustainability and soil and water conservation to crop and soil health and fostering long-term relationships with farm operators,” Provost said. “My extensive experience, combined with my business relationships, has provided me with a deep understanding of the unique opportunities available to farm owners.”

Brett is a proud alumnus of Arkansas State University and the Paul W. Barret Graduate School of Banking. He has lived in Jonesboro since 1994, where he serves as chairman of the Craighead County Solid Waste Disposal Authority Board and is an active member of Central Baptist Church.
