Melanie Watson Promoted to Director of Special Projects at Farmers & Merchants Bank

Farmers & Merchants Bank and The Bank of Fayetteville is excited to announce Melanie Watson’s promotion to director of special projects/shareholder liaison. Watson brings a wealth of experience in administrative support, corporate governance and community outreach.

She began her journey at Farmers and Merchants Bank in 2018 as corporate secretary, where she excelled in providing high-level administrative support, managing corporate records and overseeing public an media relations for the bank.

With a strong background in public service, Watson has spent years advocating for workers’ rights and addressing social justice issues across the country before settling in Stuttgart to start a family.

Watson’s extensive career includes notable positions such as directory of the Arkansas Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice, political coordinator for Teamsters Local 878 and district aide for former U.S. Representative Vic Snyder. Her experience in legislative management, community engagement, and event planning has been a cornerstone of her professional success.

Originally from Hensley, Watson is a Sheridan High School graduate and holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Central Arkansas.

Beyond her professional role, Watson is a dedicated community member, actively volunteering at her church and children’s schools. Her commitment to both her work and her community exemplifies the values of Farmers and Merchants Bank.
