Farmers & Merchants Bank Promotes Luke Mitchell to Commercial Loan Officer

Farmers & Merchants Bank is proud to announce the promotion of Luke Mitchell to Commercial Loan Officer at our Bentonville branch.

Luke’s career with Farmers & Merchants Bank began in 2019 when he joined the team as a teller while attending the University of Arkansas. After graduating with dual bachelor’s degrees in finance and agribusiness and briefly pursuing law school, Luke returned to the bank in 2022 as a credit analyst. In that role, he reviewed more than 200 credit relationships in excess of $2 million and collaborated with lenders across the bank’s footprint.

Before entering banking, Luke worked in his family’s business, Vansandt Farm Service LLC of DeWitt, which specializes in the erection and maintenance of on-farm grain storage. This experience gave him a strong foundation in business operations and customer service that continues to guide his work today.

“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to continue building my career here at Farmers & Merchants,” Luke said. “Farmers & Merchants Bank is a cornerstone in the small community I grew up in and it is an absolute privilege to be at the forefront of our growth in the Bentonville market.”

A native of DeWitt, Luke is now building his career and family life in Northwest Arkansas. Outside of work he enjoys hunting, golfing, grilling and spending time outdoors with his wife Caroline and their two dogs.
